Christmas Rook

When designing the rook, I found myself thinking about where castles were located. This time, I took the concept of location very literally and made the North Pole sign.

The rook is a simple carving and can give you a sense of completion when finished. I suggest carving the rooks as a reward, so to speak, after finishing the pawns.

1 With the pattern cut out, remove the wood from the back of what will be the sign with the knife. Shape the pole from a square to a rough octagon shape with the carving knife. Remove all of the saw marks from the piece.
